Dear Future Me...
DEAR FUTURE ME...
I hope we are happy
I hope we wake up every day with a smile on our face and a skip in our steps
I hope we are praying that simple prayer every morning and dancing to Lauren Smith's songs
Do we still cry at any small inconvenience or are we mature enough to face our troubles head-on?
Do we still watch the stars and think they are God's most beautiful creations?
Do we still like vanilla ice cream mixed with bananas or did we change? I doubt we've changed because the past us was really afraid of change.
But if we changed, did we change for the better?
I hope we did.
I hope we still surround ourselves with people who make us feel loved and wanted. People who hold our hands in trying times and cheer us on in good times. And I hope you tell them you love them ever so often.
I hope we have finally learned to be kind. To be kind to everyone and in every opportunity presented to us. I hope we have not stopped being a good person because of bad people because we have finally understood that there is magic in kindness.
I really hope we have healed and are ready to say yes more in life instead of letting our anxiety, awkwardness, and idea of failure deprive us of the life we are supposed to have fun and make memories. And I hope that every of these 'yes'es is the start of something beautiful. Something beyond our wildest dreams.
I hope we have learned to let go. To let go of the people, books, notebooks, clothes(heavy on the clothes), jewelry, and anything else that does not serve us. I hope we have finally learned that we must let go to get more.
I hope we have learned to love, not necessarily a significant other but yourself. I hope you look back at the mirror and be grateful for the flaws that stare back at you. The flaws that make you YOU. I hope you will love yourself enough to protect our mind, body, and heart. And I hope you will learn the difference between protection and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Vulnerable enough to share your big heart with the world.
I hope you learn that the same light that shines in others is shining within you too and that comparison is not only the thief of joy but also our dreams.
I hope we laugh more often
I hope we dance to the sound of rain
I hope we still hate oats
I hope when we don't know what to choose, we chose ourselves.
I hope we get there-there where we are able to open up ourselves to new beginnings.
I hope to meet you and see how much we've changed.
But I hope you don't forget me. I hope you'll always remember me as the starting point of something grand and the small voice of encouragement in your ear.
Yours truly,
Past ME.💛

Nice✨
